Awesome Capstone

My capstone presentation was awesome because a lot of effort and research went into my project. I was able to remember all my key points so I was able to express my capstone presentation effectively. My Capstone presentation was awesome because I enjoyed talking about my topic. It was great since I practiced my presentation a lot so I was prepared to present.

Project: Develop Presentation materials
For my presentation, I need a game app and a website. The game app is something that I haven't ever done so it is a new experience trying to create a game app that fits with my capstone topic. For me, thinking up the idea of what the game should be like and incorporating my topic will be difficult and also implementing the plan into my game will be difficult. For my website, it is difficult to decide what to put on certain pages of my website and how to make it better.

Perfect Presentations

1) A real-life situation in which I had to listen to a boring presentation would be in physics when the instructor taught by using powerpoints and lectured using the powerpoint. A situation where I participated in an engaging presentation would be in theatre where he interacted with the whole class when he taught us.
2)Multitasking deters progress in creating a presentation because then you won't be focused on creating your presentation and it won't be as good because you didn't put much thought into it.
3)When creating and participating in a presentation, I would have sources from scholarly articles and credible websites.
4) I would recreate the visual aspect of the presentation so that the text doesn't overshadow the pictures which incorporates "vision trumps all other senses."
5) I should toss my current Powerpoint slides because the current powerpoint probably is too wordy and will bore the audience to sleep.

A.Identify the nature of your presentation

i.Theme

The theme is ethics education. My theme would be of serious nature so it will be professional and tasteful.

ii.Props and other assets, food, photographs, building materials

For my project, I will need props such as a laptop to showcase my website and my poster for the project. Other than that, I believe that I will not need anything else.

My proposal is to have institutions educate students on ethics, ethical decision making, and the importance of ethics in a career.

B.Have you gained additional experience that affects your choice of media?

I gained additional experience from my research so it affects my choice of media.

C.What technologies will you use and why.

I want to have website and a poster to display my research topic.

D.Why did you not choose a different technology? 

It would be to complicated to learn how to use a different technology.

E.Critique two other proposals from other students.

Vanessa A. and Ashley D. both have clear, concise proposals that are very informative and interesting as well.

F.Identify timeline for project:

1)What assets do you need to create?
I have to create a game app that teaches ethics and ethical decision-making.

2)Identify a practical timeline for creating assets (sound, art, etc).
As of yet, I do not have a specific deadline, but I expect to be finished by end of March or at the latest the middle of April.

3)Create a timeline for written material, scripts.
I expect to be done by end of March 24.

4)Identify a timeline for audio recording
I don't expect to have audio recording so I don't have a timeline for it.

A) The nature of my presentation is very calm and soothing. It will be very laid back, but interesting to capture the attention of the audience.

Site Efforts

For the website, it is just a basic outline of what I will put in my website. Later on, I hope to incorporate information of my capstone topic into my website in a way that it is interesting and will make you want to read more.

Video Efforts

For my PSA video, it is short, but straight to the point. It introduces fraud seriously and how it is applicable to college students. In the video, I used a couple of images in the beginning of my video and added music from jamendo.

i.Will your capstone include constructing or purchasing explanatory props

such as architectural models or other?

My capstone will not include constructing or purchasing explanatory props such as architectural models.

 

ii.How will you present poster material (an easel, stand)? 

I plan to present my poster material at a stand.

 

iii.Will you be fabricating a model or a 3d prototype?

I plan to be fabricating a model instead of a 3rd prototype.

 

iv.What is appropriate dress? A nurse outfit, a lab coat, a suit?

For me, I plan to dress as professionally as possible so I will wear a suit or something similar to a suit.

 

v.What are important points to present in your verbal presentation?

vi.Will you be presenting a brochure?

I am undecided on presenting a brochure, but if it is my capability to create a brochure then I plan to have a brochure.

I plan to include a website and video to my capstone project.

a)Will your presentation use comedy and humor or is it serious?
 As the presentation topic is a serious topic, the content should also be serious as well.

b)What colors, fonts, design layouts, graphs, photographs and other imagery are appropriate for the topic?
The colors should be a darker color and should display the photographs and graphs to support the topic. The design layout should be simple, but still friendly. The font should be professional yet friendly and conversational as well.

c)How is your site, video and print material persuasive?
The site, video, and print material should be persuasive since it is representing the topic and if it is not accurate presented then no one would consider it. My site, video, and print material would be persuasive since it will be interesting while representing the material as best as possible.

d)Post support materials.

e)How do you make your point of view understood?
I would make my point of view understood by inserting my own touch to my presentation.

f)Are you intending to create:
Out of all the options, I intend to create presentation of a clean corporate economic presentation with shades of blue.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent:

a)Identify the goals of the project.
     1. Raise awareness about the problems WIMS been facing about removing funds from business office
     2. Decrease the guidelines business office has
     3. Think of alternative solutions

b)Why is it important and why should we care?
WIMS' mission is to educate women about the opportunities available to them in the fields of math, science, and engineering and without its funds it is unable to provide its services and host its events.

c)How do these goals fit with your career objectives?
These goals fit with my career objectives since it will help me to identify types of problems that accountants will face and how an accountant may potentially solve them.

d)How does your project give back to society?
The project that I will create will give back to the society since WIMS is helping educate women about fields in math and science as well as helping promote Richland. 

e)Address the Richland triple bottom line.
  Finding a solution to WIMS' problem means raising awareness of the issue at hand which is social, and can help WIMS fund its events which is economical. Educating women interested in environment which is environmental benefit.

Inspiration

Inspiration for a good idea comes whenever I take a break from what I am currently doing and go back to it later after a while. I find that I can think up new ideas when I take a break.
